Cavendish Streetscapes joined the Chamber last year in appreciation of the opportunity to connect with the members we know and have yet to meet!
In 2018 Cavendish residents, Rolf vanSchaik, Martha Mott, Julia Gignoux and Carolyn Solzenhitsyn named and funded the organization, with help from the Cavendish Community Fund and generous citizens. Since then an enthusiastic and active membership has sprouted.
Evidence of their energy is seen in the flags flying in both villages, flower boxes at the Cavendish Town Elementary School, the Cavendish Post Office, the Cavendish Museum, the Depot Street Bridge and numerous flower beds surrounding the Proctorsville Green. They even find time to install creative holiday decor as the seasons change. To raise funds, Doris Eddy initiated a popular annual event, Birds & Blooms. This year’s selection of garden-themed items will include colorful welcome signs, gourd birdhouses, tools, artwork, free art activity for children, and auction and BBQ from the Proctorsville Fire Department.
