Fall in Vermont is never just about the leaves; it’s about the journey, the food, and the traditions that make this season unforgettable. In Bennington, Vermont, autumn paints the valleys and mountainsides with bold reds, glowing golds, and fiery oranges, creating the perfect backdrop for a weekend getaway.

This year, foliage experts are predicting peak colors in southern Vermont between October 6–12, with vibrant hues starting as early as late September.

“We love the fall season here in Southwestern Vermont. Road trips, farm-to-table harvest, cultural moments, and a landscape that would wow anybody is a perfect reason to explore the Shires this season,” said Matt Harrington, Executive Director of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce.
